Lisanne Wilson
Lisanne started in dance at an early age and continued into her mid-twenties with Anna Wyman. Having received a B.A. from U.Vic., started her career with the police department for ten years. A change in lifestyle promoted a thoughtful process to follow the passion for movement in the body. Lisanne continued at S.F.U in Kinesiology and decided to pursue Pilates. At that time, it was difficult to find education in Canada, which led to Las Vegas, Nevada to study with Polestar Education/Rehabilitation and Cirque du Soleil. When Canada finally had a program in place, Stott Pilates, she completed her training in Canada. Presently, Lisanne is studying under Dianne Miller in Vancouver, highly regarded around the world and focusing on the Pilates Method Alliance, setting the standard for worldwide recognition for all teachers.
Lisanne specializes in rehabilitation, with contracts with I.C.B.C., the Brain Injury Program for B.C. and G.F. Strong, spinal cord injury. Lisanne recently had the opportunity to work with the New York City Ballet in San Francisco and loves her work!
Kay Leong
Kay was drawn to dance from a young age. Subsequently she became a professional dancer and teacher for over 10 years with the Paula Ross Dancers, a leading dance company in Canada in the 70s and other Vancouver companies. Her continuing passion for movement led her to Pilates 10 years ago and acceptance into a 2 year apprenticeship with master teacher, Dianne Miller to become an instructor.
Along the way, Kay has had several successful careers. First, as a Ministry Social Worker in child protection for a number of years. Then, she launched the renowned “South China Seas Trading Co.", a Asian food store in Granville Island Market which she owned for 13 years.
